Thank you Sarah Duffield-Harding for scanning my double page spread in ImagineFX’s July 2012 issue! I was made Artist of the Month in issue number 84, and I can’t wait to get a copy because it had an article on Rackham and is filled with fairytale work!
You can order an issue here

I finally made an Adventure Time inspired piece after months of procrastinating over it and saying I’ll do one! Tried to make a more realistic Finn and Jake, and had a lot of fun drawing Jake’s giant head. The original is for sale along with prints!

I love doing the character re-designs on Ten Paces and Draw! This week was Kill Bill week and artists created a bunch of pieces based on The Bride, Elle and O-Ren. I chose Elle who I always thought was a bit interesting, always living in Beatrix’s shadow. It was also interesting to learn that the snake she is named after, The California Mountain Snake, is actually not poisonous at all. What’s cool about them though, is they eat rattlesnakes and are immune to their venom. Budd’s codename in the movie was Sidewinder, a species of rattlesnake.

You can view everyone’s entries here and the original is also for sale along with a print on Etsy! I added new sizes to my shop too, you can now buy small sets of 4x6’ prints and I have 8.5x11” prints on 15pt stock paper.

This week I spent most of my time working on a commission for Christine Tyler, based on a story she is writing. Had a lot of fun with all of this color and Christine had such great ideas, it was great trying something new. I also made two pieces for Ten Paces so look out for them early next week. If you want to commission me, check out Etsy!

Here is another piece from Game of Thrones, Eddard Stark! I really like how this one came out, and I’m super excited to watch it this Sunday. Not sure who to draw next, been looking at Joffrey and Tyrion.

Here are the process shots of my Ned Stark piece! Hope this helps some of you. I started out with a traditionally made ink and black watercolor drawing, scanned it into Photoshop at 400dpi, used a mask to make the lines colorable and then started. If you’re having trouble seeing the full size you can download it here.
