Only two more weeks until Moccafest in NYC! This year I’ll be at Table D10 with Chase Stone again, so if you’re in New York stop by! Admission is only $5 this year and it’s open from 11am-6pm. I will be selling tons of prints are discount prices, along with a big bundle deal which is one of everything at my table for $35. I will also be selling my first Zine, with includes the line art for my Tolkien illustrations, it’s 6x9” and 12 pages. You can purchase them also online over at my Etsy.

One more week!

Last night I was invited to be a part of the super fan zone at the Game of Thrones season 4 premiere in NYC! I was on the red carpet and got to see everyone up close, it was amazing, didn’t even care about the cold. Afterwards I got to go inside with everyone and watch the Philharmonic Orchestra play the Rains of Castamere, the opening song, and two others. Then I got to see the first episode of season four, but no spoilers from me.

Hey! Another piece I made to help build my editorial portfolio, this one was inspired by a recent article about oyster nurseries being planted in the Hudson around Manhattan and it’s burrows.  Article

It’s just a few days away!!!

Another photo update. I went to NYC yesterday to take a look at the Audubon show they are having at the NY Historical Society. They’re showing all of his original bird drawings in three segments and I spent 4 hours looking at each image in Part 1 with a magnifying glass. Not kidding, they had magnifying glasses for people to use. I also took a bunch of notes on how he did wings, might post my sketches later. I also ran next door to the Museum of Natural History and got a drawing done before it closed. And I got to see the Nick Cave show in Grand Central and bought some great pasties for Easter.

Oh God is Moccafest really next weekend? Still waiting for two of my prints to come in and I need to buy some stuff for it. Excited though! I’m sharing a table with fellow FIT alumni, Chase Stone again this year and we’ll have a whole table of fantasy pieces. Bring your Chase Stone Magic The Gathering cards and he’ll sign them!

Yesterday I went into the city for a haircut and had some time to sketch at the Museum of Natural History. Also saw some cool stuff on the street and got cannolis.

My most favorite thing to do in NYC, drawing in the North American Mammal wing at the Museum of Natural History. Might go back again next Wednesday morning before the Holiday Cocktail Hour at the Society of Illustrators.

Also, the other week I was in a one night show in NYC called Hot One Inch Action! I unfortunately couldn’t make it because I caught a cold, but I did get a bag of my buttons in the mail. Snagged some of these photos off of facebook from friends.

Visited Bloomingdales on 59th street and Park in NYC yesterday and got some nice shots of the Once Upon A Time window displays there.

More sketches! These are from Tuesday’s visit to the Museum of Natural History, finally got a decent drawing of the buffalo.

Photos from The Triangle Factory Fire show going on at the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum from now until July 7th. If you’re in NYC near 27th street, 7th ave, go check it out! Free admission.
