Another photo update. I went to NYC yesterday to take a look at the Audubon show they are having at the NY Historical Society. They’re showing all of his original bird drawings in three segments and I spent 4 hours looking at each image in Part 1 with a magnifying glass. Not kidding, they had magnifying glasses for people to use. I also took a bunch of notes on how he did wings, might post my sketches later. I also ran next door to the Museum of Natural History and got a drawing done before it closed. And I got to see the Nick Cave show in Grand Central and bought some great pasties for Easter.

Yesterday I went into the city for a haircut and had some time to sketch at the Museum of Natural History. Also saw some cool stuff on the street and got cannolis.

I have 4 more pages left in my sketchbook, I am always terrified to start a new one. I won’t even draw on the first page of a new sketchbook, too much pressure. Anyways, here are some of my favorite last few pages and sketches. Have some drawings from the AMNH, some portraits, and Martin Freeman.

My sketches from this month’s visits to The American Museum of Natural History in NYC. Aka, the best place ever! Wish I could’ve gotten more drawings from the African Mammal wing, but they began setting up for some kind of party and kicked us out. Next time…

My most favorite thing to do in NYC, drawing in the North American Mammal wing at the Museum of Natural History. Might go back again next Wednesday morning before the Holiday Cocktail Hour at the Society of Illustrators.

More sketches! These are from Tuesday’s visit to the Museum of Natural History, finally got a decent drawing of the buffalo.

More sketches from when I drew at the Museum of Natural History earlier this month! Done in SKB pen and I added some texture and color in photoshop.

Sorry for the lack of updates this week, but was spending a few days in NYC. Here are some sketches I made while in the Museum of Natural History last Thursday! And I threw in one I did of Bradley James from Merlin. Ugh, his nose is perfection.

Dug out my scanner, here are some things that were in my sketchbook.

Got to draw for a few hours Wedneday at the Museum of Natural History. My favorite place in the world next to Central Park Zoo.

Sketches from today’s trip to the Museum of Natural History with Jess Yeomans. Discovered a new section I haven’t been to with reptiles and a group of Komodo dragons eating a wild boar.
